Why You Should Embrace Your Sensitivity As Your Greatest Asset

highly sensitive Jun 29, 2020

So, I felt like doing things a little bit differently this week… a video blog! And no, this definitely won’t be my normal way of doing things going forward. I love putting words down on a page. But, I feel like there’s something intimate about sharing a video like this.

Because here’s what I was thinking. I’ve been writing to you all for 1 1/2 years but have we ever met “face-to-face”? I’ve shared my life, my soul, my dreams, my vulnerable moments… in the written word. But maybe you’re like who the heck is this girl?

Well, here I am! I’m sharing my experience growing up as a Highly Sensitive Person. Throughout my life, I always heard that I was “too sensitive” and my emotions were “too much”. I was called a cry baby, overly emotional, unstable (*eye roll*)… everything under the sun. I used to be so ashamed of being this way. Now I’m proud of it. Ironically, it’s what fuels me to do good in the world.

Join My Facebook Community For Empaths & HSPs!

If you, too, identify as a highly sensitive person or an empath, I’d love to have you join my community! It’s called the Highly Sensitive Glow Co. My purpose for this community is to create a space that feels really good to be an empath/HSP!

I want to talk about real things and have this be a safe space to share, vent and relate. But I also want it to be an empowering place— somewhere we can grow, learn, and lift each other up. I’ll be sharing journal prompts, meditations, and other spiritual tools on a regular basis.

So, if you’d like to join, click here! I would love to have you. 🙂

With love,

Alissa
