40 Tidbits of Wisdom to Inspire Your Life: Part 2

You know those weeks you just can’t seem to catch up? No matter what you do, you feel like the to-do list is getting out of control; your head is swirling with all the things you need to remember. Even the smallest additional tasks make you want to throw your hands up and say, “I don’t have time for this!”.

Well, that’s me this week. All good things happening, just a lot at once, which almost makes me feel worse for stressing over them. Such is life. I’m learning about boundaries right now, so you can bet there’ll be a post about that coming in the near future!

This week, Matt and I became the official owners of the home we’ve been renting for the past year. Through the craziness of this week, I’m trying to check myself and be present because moments like this don’t happen too often in life. I’m reminding myself to slow down and bask in the excitement of hitting such a milestone.

That being said, when life feels crazy, quotes and inspiration are my saving grace. I can’t always remember how to shift my mindset, so I’m thankful that I’ve saved some of my favorite bits of wisdom to turn to when I need it. I’ll be honest – putting together this post and going through these notes again was so therapeutic. Enjoy!

  1. Listen to your intuition when it’s telling you something. If it’s pushing you toward or away from a person; don’t ignore that feeling.
  2. Be inclusive. Say hello, invite someone to lunch. Everyone wants to feel special. No one wants to be lonely. Remember that a small gesture may mean a lot to someone.
  3. Judge less. You don’t know other people’s journeys or why they act a certain way. Try to be patient and compassionate when you notice yourself being judgmental.
  4. Try to leave the house as clean and orderly as you can. It creates a calmer atmosphere.
  5. Stop and listen to others’ feelings. Respect them. Even if you don’t agree with their feelings. You don’t need to agree. Just try to understand their point of view.
  6. Let go and allow the day to unfold. Don’t let yourself get stuck to a strict schedule and get frustrated when it doesn’t go according to plan.
  7. Stop being so hard on yourself. People are focused more on themselves than you. Remember that you’re harder on yourself than anyone else.
  8. Being open to all experiences instead of having set expectations makes space for more new adventures, growth, and flow.
  9. Don’t let yourself be controlled by pleasing others. Old insecurities can easily pop up when you’re not feeling your best. When this happens, put away your phone. Focus your mind on something productive. Use these moments to be mindful and don’t be too hard on yourself.
  10. You can’t do it all. Check things off your list little by little. It will get done. The time will pass either way, you may as well have it be stress-free.
  11. Let go of expectations and guidelines. Accept the present moment. All that we have is this moment and it’s exactly as it should be.
  12. Remind yourself to ask for help. Don’t compare your beginning to someone else’s middle. You’ll get there eventually.
  13. Be open to doing things outside of your comfort zone. This is where growth happens.
  14. Take a moment before reacting. Replace irritation with compassion.
  15. Confidence plus a positive attitude will take you far. You ARE great. You ARE deserving.
  16. Be sure of yourself and know that you always try your best, even if it’s not perfect. When you know you’ve done your best, despite the outcome, this helps build confidence.
  17. Don’t resist what you are feeling. Relax into it. Allow it to be there. Allow yourself to feel it. You’ll accomplish a lot more when you’re relaxed than when you’re feeling pressured.

  19. ONE THING AT A TIME. Check things off your list one thing at a time. Try not to have all tabs open and work on a bunch of projects haphazardly- you’ll get overwhelmed and burnt out. One thing at a time, it will get done. Enjoy the process.
  20. Showing confidence in yourself and your abilities helps people trust you in a work setting. Eventually they’ll step back and let you do your thing.
  21. Give up the need for control. When you feel this urge, look in the mirror. What insecurity are you grasping onto?
  22. Give people the time and space to be who they truly are.
  23. Until you accept yourself, you’ll always blame others and find them at fault. When you accept yourself, you’ll lose the need for constant validation. You’ll take ownership of your life.
  24. Be light. Enjoy the little things. You’ll notice the difference in your day.
  25. Have a compassionate heart for those in your life. We’re all on our own journey, trying our best.
  26. Find the spiritual lesson you’re supposed to learn from each person. Find the lesson in every part of your day. Let everyone and everything be your teacher.
  27. Appreciate the time you get with family. One day you’ll look back and wish you’d spent more time with them.
  28. When you’re reaching to become your highest self, you’ll be met with obstacles that want to knock you back down. Overcoming these obstacles is part of the journey.
  29. Life is like music. It isn’t about the end result. It’s the play. It’s the journey.
  30. Whatever you’re not aware of cannot be healed. Let your emotions flow freely.
  31. It’s okay not to know. Have the humility to understand that we don’t know what’s going to happen. And that’s okay. Be at peace with the unknown.
  32. When you embody what you seek, you’ll find it everywhere.
  33. Celebrate every small win and breakthrough in the journey of bettering yourself. Any small growth is worth noticing and being proud of.

  39. You can’t plan or predict how things are going to go, because you’re often going to be wrong. It’s easy to play scenarios in your head, but it’s a waste of the current moment.
  40. Give more than you feel necessary! People always appreciate a kind gesture. Always go above and beyond. It feels good to make others feel special.
