Your Sensitive Shadow Archetype is The Over-Responsible People-Pleaser

The Over-Responsible People-Pleaser: You’re the go-to person your friends and family. You’re the reliable one… the one everyone can count on to help out and say “yes”. You’re loving, empathetic, and have such a big heart! The shadow side of this is that you often overextend yourself for others which can become exhausting for you. You often don’t know your limits and tend to take on other people’s energy.

This may result in:

  • Codependent relationships where you feel responsible for the other person’s experience
  • Feeling chronically drained because you’re always absorbing other people’s energy and emotions
  • Resentment and frustration because you’re always helping others but don’t feel like other people support you in the same way

Check out the mini-training below for my tips on how to work through this!

How To Move Forward & Heal Your Shadow (quick recap!)

First & foremost, you need to understand WHY you feel like it’s your responsibility to take care of everyone. Was this something you learned as a child? Does it feel like part of your identity? Are you afraid of others not seeing your value if you aren’t doing everything for them?

You need to show yourself that it’s SAFE to take time for yourself. Setting boundaries and saying “no” can absolutely bring up old insecurities and wounds!

You also need to learn how to have healthy boundaries – energetic boundaries to protect yourself from other people’s energy and emotions and boundaries around your empathy!

Your empathy is stronger when you have boundaries around it because you can give in a meaningful way with intention instead of overextending yourself for others and eventually burning out.

The goal is for you to have a healthy sense of self-worth and be able to source your sense of safety and feeling “good enough” from within.
