The Chronic Second-Guesser: You are a sweet, thoughtful person who really values doing the right thing and making other people happy. You are used to being well-liked by others and have a tendency to avoid conflict for the most part. However, the shadow side for you is that you have a tendency to constantly second-guess yourself and not value your own opinion. In fact, you often struggle to make decisions without asking everyone else first.

This may result in:

  • Constantly gaslighting yourself and downplaying your experience. You might ask yourself, “Am I making this too big of a deal?” and push down your feelings.
  • Overthinking everything, always wondering if you said the right thing or if you’d unintentionally upset someone
  • Not really knowing yourself and your needs because you’re always externally focused on other people

How To Move Forward & Heal Your Shadow (quick recap!)

First & foremost, your focus will be on building your self-trust and getting to know yourself and your unique beliefs. Self-trust is built in small moments of follow through… doing what we say we’re going to do. Example: Letting the nail tech at the nail salon know that the water is too hot, instead of letting it scald your feet because you're too afraid to speak up.

It's also so important for you to get to know yourself and practice asserting your opinion in small moments until you can work your way up to larger moments that feel more intimidating to you. You have to show yourself that it’s safe to trust yourself and to make decisions on your own. Practice not asking ANYONE for their opinion and following your gut. See what happens!
